Rishad Bathiudeen arrested
MP Rishad Bathiudeen has been arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department in Dehiwala this morning.
Police said that CID will now record a statement and will produce the former minister to the court.
According to police sources former minister was arrested between 3-30 am this morning from a house in Dehiwela.
The Attorney General directed the Acting IGP to arrest MP Rishad Bathuideen on charges of Criminal Misappropriation of Public Funds and Violation of Election Laws.
The Former Minister is accused of transporting internally displaced persons(IDP) from Puttalam to Mannar in 222 CTB buses to vote at the 2019 Presidential Election.
