'Restrict travel during festive season' - GMOA
The Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) stated that the attention of the Government should be directed to imposing travel restrictions during the upcoming festive season to control the spread of coronavirus in Sri Lanka.
GMOA Media Spokesperson Dr Samantha Ananda stated that there is a probability of COVID cases rising in Sri Lanka during the festive season as gatherings of people tends to take place.
Meanwhile, Subject Minister Vidura Wikramanayaka stated that concerts that are suspended due to the spread of the coronavirus will resume soon while adhering to health guidelines. Speaking to Hiru News, the State Minister noted that discussions in this regard were held with the Director-General of Health Services to obtain the required approval.
