Parliament debate on Easter Commission's final report to be held today

The debate on the report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Easter Sunday terrorist attack will begin in Parliament today.

Secretary-General of Parliament Dhammika Dasanayake stated that it will be taken up for debate as an adjournment motion brought by the government.

Accordingly, the debate will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 05.30 pm.

The Catholic Bishops' Conference of Sri Lanka (CBCSL) said in a statement that it accepted the final report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Easter attacks.

The government is urged to implement the recommendations immediately and the Attorney General should be given full powers to do so.
