Cabinet attention to local gas companies requests
Despite the demands of local gas companies, the government is yet to take a decision to increase gas prices.
The request made by the companies to increase the price of gas was also discussed at the Cabinet meeting chaired by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday (08).
Laugfs recently stated that its company was in a precarious position as gas prices was not revised for years.
However, Minister of Trade Dr. Bandula Gunawardena briefed the Cabinet yesterday regarding the prevailing gas prices in the world market.
A senior government minister told the Hiru News team that it was decided at the cabinet meeting held yesterday (08) that no action would be taken to increase gas prices despite discussions regarding gas prices
