US imposes sanctions on Russia
The United States and the European Union have imposed sanctions on Russia.
It is based on the arrest and detention of Alexei Navalny, a leading Russian opposition politician, and the poisoning of him.
Accordingly, sanctions have been imposed on 7 high ranking Russian officials and 14 other institutions. Foreign commentators say this is the first attack on the Kremlin since Joe Biden was sworn in
