PCoI appointed to make recommendations on streamlining Customs

A five-member Commission of Inquiry (CoI) was appointed to study the prevailing situation of Sri Lanka Customs and to make recommendations on increasing its efficiency, says President’s Media Division (PMD).

Appointment of the commission was made on the directives of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the statement read further.

Supreme Court Judge Shiran Anthony has been appointed as the chairman of the Commission.
 
Appeals Court Judge Priyantha Fernando, High Court Judge Damith Thotawatte, Deputy Governor of Central Bank K.M.M. siriwardhane, Senior Consultant (Trade) Dr. Sanath Jayanetti and former Customs Director General P.A. Dias will serve as its members.
