Badulla Municipal Council activities suspended with immediate effect
Governor of Uva Province has issued an Extraordinary Gazette notification temporarily suspending the activities of the Badulla Municipal Council with immediate effect and vesting powers to a special commissioner.
The relevant gazette notification issued by Uva Provincial Governor A.J.M. Muzammil states that Jeewantha Herath, an Administrative Services Officer, has been appointed as a Special Commissioner to exercise the powers of the Municipal Council and to carry out its functions.
Retired Judge H.M.R. Anura Kumara has been appointed to inspect and report on the activities of the Mayor of the Badulla Municipal Council and the activities of the council within a period of 03 months from today.
