The Excise Department states that all liquor outlets in the country should be closed in view of the National Independence Day which falls on 04 February.

The department announced the dates for the closure of liquor stores during this year which are as below.

28 January 2021 - Duruthu Poya Day
04 February 2021 - National Independence Day
26 February 2021 - Nawam Poya Day
28 March 2021 - Medin Poya Day
13 April 2021 - Day before Sinhala & Tamil New Year
14 April 2021 - Sinhala & Tamil New Year
26 April 2021 - Bak Poya Day
26 May 2021 - Vesak Poya Day
27 May 2021 - Vesak Poya Day
24 June 2021 - Poson Poya Day
23 July 2021 - Esala Poya Day
22 August 2021 - Nikini Poya Day
20 September 2021 - Binara Poya Day
03 October 2021 - World Temperance Day
20 October 2021 - Vap Poya Day
18 November 2021 - Il Poya Day
18 December 2021 - Unduvap Poya Day
25 December 2021 - Christmas Day
