Six bovines killed in train accident
Six cattle have died after being hit by a train in Muhamalai, Kilinochchi.
It is reported that while six cattle were killed and four others were injured.
It is reported that the accident had taken place when the luxury train traveling from Colombo Fort to Jaffna had collided with the cattle while crossing the railway line.
Furthermore, it is said that the owners of the dead cattle have come and taken the carcasses of the cows and buried them and have begun treating the injured cattle.
Residents in the area say that the number of cattle accidents due to collisions with cattle herds on the Northern Railway has increased significantly in recent times.
