Fixed prices to be maintained for 10 essential commodities
Direct importers and local manufacturers have agreed to maintain a fixed price for 10 essential commodities with effect from February.
This was stated at a discussion between exporters and local manufacturers chaired by Trade Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardena yesterday (22).
An agreement was also reached to provide high quality goods obtained from direct importers and manufacturers to Sathosa and Co-operative outlets at affordable prices.
The Minister of Trade Dr. Bandula Gunawardena stated that this program has been implemented to achieve the objectives of the government to provide high quality goods at reasonable prices.
