During search operations carried out in areas outside the Western Province, 29 persons have been arrested for not wearing protective face masks and maintaining social distance
Police Media Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana stated that a total of 2,578 persons have been arrested in connection with the relevant offenses since October 30.
Meanwhile, isolation of several streets in the Kattankudy Police Division, various Grama Niladhari Divisions across the island and apartments are still in progress.
The police urge the people to adhere to health guidelines at all times.
The Police Media Spokesman points out that if such protective action is not taken, the isolation orders cannot be revoked in the face of further reports of infections.
People in isolated areas are also urged to adhere to regular health guidelines and quarantine laws.
People in Colombo Central and Colombo North areas who have been released after prolonged isolating should also follow these health guidelines in particular.
Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that if not, there is a possibility of these areas being subject to isolation orders again.
