Chief warden of the Avanthi Devi Children's Home remanded
Chief Warden of the Avanthi Devi Children's Home, Anuradhapura, who was arrested over various malpractices, remanded until January 18.
Police arrested the Chief Warden of the Avanthi Devi Children's Home yesterday (14) after it drew the attention of the authorities.
The statements of about 50 children regarding the abuse and misconduct faced by the girls at the Avanthi Devi Children's Home were recorded so far, said Police Media Spokesperson, DIG Ajith Rohana.
DIG Ajith Rohana further stated that according to the relevant statements, it was revealed that some children were subjected to various forms of abuse.
