Covid : Parliament to identify MP Hakeem’s close contacts
Parliament officials are currently analysing CCTV footage of the parliament to identify close contacts of MP Rauff Hakeem, who tested positive for Covid-19 earlier today.
MP Hakeem had attended the Parliament session on 5th January according to a parliament official.
“I have tested positive for COVID-19 today and will be entered into a quarantine facility. I request those who came into contact with me in the last 10 days to take necessary health and safety precautions.” MP Rauff Hakeem tweeted earlier today.
Rauff Hakeem is the 2nd MP to test positive for Covid this week. Earlier minister Dayasiri Jayasekara was tested positive and is currently in a qurantine facility.
