Education Minister speaks about re-opening of schools in WP
Speaking to the media, Education Minister Prof. G.L. Pieris stated that a complete plan was formulated for the re-opening of schools in non-isolated areas on 11 January.
He stated that parents must not unnecessarily be worried of their children as systematic direction will be implemented to ensure the health safety of children.
The subject minister stated that the plan will be reviewed every 10 days and that the need lies in opening the whole country, not just the Western Province.
He noted that opening of schools located in the Colombo District, Gampaha District and the Kalutara District which make up the Western Province is difficult at the moment, however, the authorities are paying attention regarding the re-opening of schools.
