With PM’s permission, cinema halls to reopen on 01 January
With permission granted by prime minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, cinema halls, excepting those in isolated areas, will reopen on 01 January in accordance will health guidelines.
The move follows representations made to the PM by film directors, producers, exhibitors and other industry stakeholders.
The premier said the decision was taken in consideration of the difficulties being faced by artistes as well as filmgoers.
Before their reopening, all film halls should be disinfected and owners, staff as well as viewers should observe the health guidelines, he said.
