Covid ALERT - Factory in Panadura closes with 80 testing positive for coronavirus
A garment factory on the Panadura-Horana road has been closed following reports of coronavirus infection.
The Public Health Inspector of the Panadura Municipal Council stated that 80 employees have been infected with coronavirus.
A PCR examination of a female in the factory due to a fever has confirmed that she has contracted a corona infection.
Accordingly, the 80 employees were identified as infected only after the other employees of the factory were referred for PCR tests.
Meanwhile according to foreign reports the mutation has enhanced the transmissibility rate of the virus found in UK and it is reported that 70 per cent transmissibility rate has increased.
The virus has become super-spreader according to reports.
