New courier service by the Postal Department
The Postal Department has introduced a new mechanism for the transportation of goods and parcels.
Deputy Post Master General Rajitha Ranasinghe said the mechanism will use a ‘cash on delivery’ system.
He said the service will operate via post offices which have been digitized.
The Deputy Post Master General said that this would enable the public to order items directly to their homes without having to visit the market.
