India close to 9.5 million covid cases
In the past 24 hours ending this morning, 36,604 new coronavirus infections have been reported in India, bringing the total number of infected people in the country to nearly 9.5 million.
The total number of coronavirus deaths in India has risen to 138,122 with the 501 corona deaths reported yesterday.
Also, Indian film actor and Modi government MP Sunny Deol has been infected with the corona virus.
The state of Maharashtra has the highest number of corona infections and deaths in India, followed by Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Delhi.
Meanwhile, American scientists are reportedly experimenting with a nasal spray to prevent coronavirus infection. Its mechanism is to give a genetic command to the cells of the nose and throat to reject a viral infection by administering a weakened corona virus dose.
