Unrest at Mahara Prison: Internal property severely damaged
Following the unrest at the Mahara Prison, the Police stated that internal property of the Mahara Prison has been severely damaged. They added that an assessment report regarding the damaged property is due to be obtained today.
Police stated that it was revealed that many had sustained injuries by colliding with each other inside the prison premises.
However, a force of 400 officers including the Police Special Task Force has been deployed to ensure the security of the prison.
