Covid-19: Isolation in several areas lifted
The isolation ordered on several areas in the Colombo and Gampaha Districts would be lifted this morning (30), said Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva.
The Pettah, Foreshore, and Mattakkuliya Police Areas of the Colombo District, and the Negombo and Ragama Police Areas of the Gampaha District would no longer be in isolation, he said.
Accordingly, the isolation orders on the aforementioned areas were lifted at 5 a.m. this morning.
However, trading activities will not be allowed at Manning Market and 4th and 5th Cross Streets, Colombo even though isolation orders on Pettah were to be lifted this morning, stated the Police Spokesperson.
The following areas of the Colombo and Gampaha Districts will remain under isolation until further notice:
Colombo District: Modara, Bloemendhal, Kotahena, Grandpass, Aduruppu Street, Dam Street, Keselwatta, Maligawatta, Dematagoda, and Maradana Police Areas, and Wekanda and Wanathamulla Grama Niladhari Divisions.
Gampaha District: Wattala, Peliyagoda, and Kelaniya Police Areas.
Meanwhile, the following areas were to be declared newly isolated areas form 5 a.m. today:
Mattakuliya Police Area:
Randiya Uyana Housing Scheme
Area south of Ferguson Road
Wellampitiya Police Area:
Laksanda Sewana housing scheme
Salamul Grama Niladhari Division
Wijayapura Grama Niladhari Division
