Police probe group that asked people not to take PCR tests

Police are investigating a group that had advised the public in certain of the isolated areas against taking PCR tests.

According to police media spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana, four persons had made these calls online.

Meanwhile, 52 persons were taken into custody in the 24 hours that ended at 6.00 am today (28) for not wearing facemasks and not observing social distancing.

This takes the total arrests for violating Covid-19 health guidelines to 796.
