Two arrested with yellow turmeric worth one million
Officers of the Puttalam Crime Division and Narcotics Unit have arrested two persons with a stock of turmeric worth around one million rupees.
This was according to intelligence received through the Air Force yesterday.
Air Force Media Spokesperson Group Captain Dushan Wijesinghe stated that the amount of turmeric found in the possession of the suspect was around 232 kilos.
The suspects were residents of Puttalam and the arrest was made when the consignment was being transported in a jeep.
