MP Rishad Bathiudeen's two drivers released on bail

The two drivers of MP Rishad Bathiudeen who were remanded for the possession of two firearms, have been released on bail.

This was when they were produced in court yesterday before Colombo Fort Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage.

The two suspects were released on surety bail of Rs. 500,000 each.

Meanwhile, MP Rishard Bathiudeen was further remanded till the 25th.This was when he was produced before Colombo Fort Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage on the 13th.

He was not produced in court due to the prevailing coronavirus situation. The Attorney General had filed charges against him for misusing public funds in violation of election laws to transport IDPs to the polling stations during the 2019 presidential election.
