Another arrested for spreading false information on COVID-19 deaths
An individual has been arrested in Hanthana, Kandy for spreading false information about COVID-19 deaths on social media.
Police say that the person in question has released false information on social media of alleged COVID-19 deaths occurring on the roads and the health mechanism.
The arrestee is a 28-year-old male residing in Hanthana, Kandy.
He is due to be produced before the Kandy Magistrate’s Court today (16).
Meanwhile, another person who was also arrested on the charges of spreading false information on COVID-19 deaths has been placed under remand custody until November 18.
