Sri Lankan students invited for MBBS, Engineering, Pharmacy studies in India
The High Commission of India in Colombo has invited applications from eligible Sri Lankan students for undergraduate and diploma courses under the Self Financing Scheme for the academic year 2026‑27.
According to the Indian High Commission, the scheme excludes PIO/OCI card holders and NRIs.
Courses available include MBBS, BDS, BE, B.Tech, B.Pharm, B.Arch, as well as diploma‑level technical and pharmacy programs.
Eligibility requirements are as follows:
- MBBS/BDS: Minimum 50th percentile in NEET and 50% each in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English at A/L.
- BE/B.Tech and Diploma in Engineering: At least 60% each in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and 50% in English at A/L.
- B.Pharmacy and Diploma in Pharmacy: Minimum 60% each in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and 50% in English at A/L.
- B.Arch: Mandatory clearance of the aptitude test prescribed by the Council of Architecture, New Delhi.
Application forms can be obtained from the Education Wing of the High Commission of India, Colombo on working days between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm, upon production of G.C.E. O/L and A/L certificates along with the Birth Certificate.
The deadline for submission of completed applications with supporting documents is July 24, 2026.
