New Pension Scheme Begins For Fisherfolk

The new pension scheme for the fishing community will begin today.

The inauguration ceremony will take place this morning at the Colombo Lotus Tower under the patronage of Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya.

Chairman of the Agricultural & Agrarian Insurance Board, Pemasiri Jasingarachchi, said that benefits under this pension scheme can be received after reaching the age of 60.
