Colombo High Court issues notice on Rajitha’s petition
The Colombo High Court today issued notice on a revision petition filed by former Minister Rajitha Senaratne, who is seeking to suspend the arrest warrant issued by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.
Senaratne’s legal team also sought an interim order to suspend the warrant, but the High Court declined, saying only notice would be issued to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), which is cited as the respondent.
President’s Counsel Kalinga Indatissa, representing Senaratne, informed the court that his client will appear before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court on 29th August as required.
The petition is scheduled to be heard again on 10th September.
