Police Introduce Special Traffic Plan in Kandy for Sacred Tooth Relic Exposition

A special traffic plan will be implemented in the Kandy city starting today, in view of the Special Exposition of the Sacred Tooth Relic, which begins tomorrow.

In a statement, the Police Media Division announced that vehicular entry into Kandy city will be limited from today until the 28th of April.

To accommodate the influx of devotees, the police have designated six parking areas for vehicles arriving for the religious observance. 

 

These locations include:

Getambe Grounds

Gannoruwa Road

Katugastota 4th Mile Post

Polgolla Mahinda Rajapaksa Auditorium Premises

Dharmashoka Mawatha near Ra Kade Junction

P.T. Rajan Grounds

Additionally, parking facilities have been made available at the Bandaranaike College Grounds in Pallekele and in Gurudeniya.

The police have also introduced several alternative routes for vehicles passing through the Kandy city limits, aiming to ease congestion during the period of the Special Exposition.
