Five killed in road accidents in several parts of the island
Five people have died in road accidents in several parts of the island.
One accident was reported in Yakabedda, Akuressa, when a motorcycle hit an 80-year-old male pedestrian.
The motorcyclist was injured in the accident.
A 52-year-old man died after a three-wheeler toppled on a byroad in Galnewa, Hanguranketha.
An 86-year-old woman was hit by a motorcycle opposite Siri Piyarathana College in Padukka.
A 65-year-old pedestrian has died after being hit by a lorry in Ibbankatuwa, Galewela.
His identity is yet to be confirmed.
A 24-year-old youth died when a motorcycle collided with a tractor in Kethsirigama, Damana.
The youth who was traveling on the motorcycle succumbed while receiving treatment at the Damana Hospital.
