CHILDREN IN HUNGER: 56,000 Sri Lankan children face severe malnutrition, reveals report.
The Sectoral Oversight Committee on Alleviating the Impact of the Economic Crisis disclosed that 56,000 children in Sri Lanka are experiencing severe malnutrition.
According to the chairman of the committee, Parliamentarian Gamini Waleboda, the information comes from UNICEF research.
Gamini Waleboda added that the report indicates that one-third of families in Sri Lanka lack access to a secure food source.
