Vegetable prices go down in Dambulla

Wholesale prices of vegetables at the Dambulla Economic Center have dropped significantly yesterday.

Accordingly, the wholesale price of a kilo of vegetables such as yardlong bean (maa karal), winged bean (dambala), brinjal (wambatu) and cooking melon (kekiri) imported from low country areas was between Rs. 20 and 60, said the Management Trust of the Economic Center.

Wholesale prices of vegetables from the upcountry were between Rs. 150 and Rs. 160.

The increase in the supply of vegetables to the Dambulla Economic Center from Jaffna and other parts of the country has contributed to the decline in prices.
