96% COVID cases detected since latest outbreak linked to Minuwangoda cluster
Nearly 96% of coronavirus cases detected in Sri Lanka since the latest outbreak have been linked to the Minuwangoda cluster, the Public Health Inspectors (PHI) Association revealed.
Secretary to the Association M. Balasuriya said the patients detected in Colombo and outside of Minuwangoda have been identified as family members, relatives, and associates of patients from the Minuwangoda cluster.
Balasuriya said some individuals who had commuted from Minuwangoda to other areas in the country have been identified as associates of the Minuwangoda patients.
A number of patients have been detected from Colombo due to its high population density and all those patients are all linked to the Minuwangoda cluster.
No individual or isolated cases have been detected apart from those linked to the new COVID-19 cluster,” Balasuriya added.
