Sabry Warns Against Renegotiating Debt Sustainability Analysis
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali Sabry, PC, has issued a strong warning against the National People's Power (NPP) party's proposal to renegotiate the Debt Sustainability Analysis (DSA).
Minister Sabry emphasized that the entire IMF program is based on the DSA, and renegotiating it would effectively mean abandoning the IMF.
"If you abandon the IMF, it means you will not receive the $1.2 billion expected from the IMF, World Bank, ADB, and AIIB in December and January," Minister Sabry stated. "This would invite disaster."
He defended the current program, highlighting its feasibility and the proven track record of those who developed it. Minister Sabry urged the public not to be swayed by the opposition's promises, which he described as inconsistent and unrealistic.
