First Kandy Randoli Perahera, on Saturday (26).
The first Randoli Perahera of the historical Esala Maha Perahera of the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy will parade the streets on Saturday (26) night.
Police Media spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa says that the special security arrangement is in place for the devotees who are visiting Kandy, to see the first Randoli Perahera.
He says that police officers in civilian attire, as well as intelligence officers, and a total of approximately 6,000 police officers have been deployed to ensure the safety of the people.
The Police Media spokesman adds that 11 roadblocks have been positioned around the city as well.
