A seven year old boy who left home for tuition has been found dead.

Police have found the body of the seven year old school boy inside a residential well in a house in the Navvi area in Omanthai.

The body of the child was found during a search operation carried out by the relatives.

The child who left home yesterday has not come home. He had left to attend a tutoring class with several other children.

The child's relatives had lodged a complaint with the police after the child did not return home even by night.

The body of the child was found inside the well of a neighboring house.

The school bag and the water bottle of the deceased boy were reportedly found lying in a paddy field nearby.

Therefore the police suspect that the child would have fallen fell into the well and died while he was playing with other children.

The body was recovered from the well and sent for postmortem examination.

Omanthai police are conducting further investigations.
