49 Covid-19 patients identified from Peliyagoda fish market
49 Covid-19 patients were identified from the Peliyagoda fish market today.
Area PHI told reporters that these patients were identified from the random tests that were carried out in the market on Monday.
105 employees of the Peliyagoda market were tested and 49 of them were confirmed positive for Covid-19.
These PCR tests were carried out after reports that some Covid patients from the Minuwangoda cluster had been exposed to employees of the Peliyagoda fish market.
Authorities have decided to close down the Peliyagoda Fish Market and conduct PCR tests on all traders and employees.
