Air Force assists in extinguishing fire at Ravana Ella Reserve (Video)
A fire erupts in the Ravana Ella forest reserve and a SLAF Bell 212 helicopter deployed to douse the fire.
The fire that broke out on the top of Ella Rock yesterday (05) had spread over an area of more than 50 acres, causing damage to the sensitive ecosystem.
Environmentalists point out that there are many endemic species of animals that belong to the Ravana Ella Sanctuary, which is close to the Ravana Ella Falls.
Police, Army, wildlife officers and the Disaster Management Unit are working together to put out the fire
