Myanmar's UN Ambassador removed from his post

Myanmar's Ambassador to the United Nations has been removed from his post.

He was fired the day after a request was made to the United Nations to use any means necessary to stop the military coup.

Addressing the UN General Assembly, he said Myanmar had been in a state of crisis since the military seized power on February 1, arresting several political leaders, including Aung San Suu Kyi.

Addressing the General Assembly, he said he was seeking the support of the international community to end the military coup immediately.
