Rs.134,370mn to pay salaries of principals & teachers: Minister
Education Minister Professor G.L. Peiris said today that Rs.134,370 million is being spent annually to pay salaries and allowances of principals and teachers.
In response to MP Shantha Bandara in Parliament, Minister Peiris said Rs. 8,199 million spent for salaries and Rs.138 million for allowances of principals.
“Rs. 123,637 million is being spent for salaries of teachers and Rs. 2,395 million for their allowances,” he said.
