Traffic Police to monitor school transport services: DIG Ajith Rohana

Traffic police have been informed to monitor the situation with regard to the transportation of school children, Sri Lanka Police said on Wednesday (Nov. 25).

“The parents, drivers, and conductors, the assistants, and owners of public transportation services have a responsibility and a liability to maintain quarantine rules and regulations in public transportation, especially when students are being transported. We have instructed Traffic Police officers to monitor the situation in respect of transportation of school children,” Police Spokesperson, DIG Ajith Rohana noted.

Schools across the island excluding those in the Western province and isolated areas were re-opened on Monday (Nov. 23).
