Covid-19: Colombo city is still at risk - PHI association request public to be vigilant

President of the Public Health Inspectors' Association Upul Rohana urged the public to be vigilant as Colombo is still at risk due to Coronavirus.

Also, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has exceeded 20,000.

This is with the identification of another 400 infected patients yesterday

The Government Information Department stated that 391 of them are close associates of the Peliyagoda Covid cluster.

In addition, four people from the United Arab Emirates, three from Qatar and one each from Russia and China were identified as infected.

Four more coronavirus deaths were reported yesterday, bringing the total death toll in Sri Lanka to 87.

A 70-year-old female from Colombo 15 died on admission to the Colombo National Hospital due to Covid pneumonia.

An 84 year old female from Borella also died at home due to coronavirus pneumonia.

The other two victims were aged 75 and 53, residents of Colombo 10 and Colombo 12.

One died on admission to the Colombo National Hospital while the other person died while receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit.

303 Sri Lankans who were unable to return after going for employment overseas arrived on the island this morning at the Katunayake and Mattala airports.

According to reports 283 Sri Lankans from Kuwait and 18 from Qatar and two from Japan arrived to the country.
