Study claims having this vitamin may help you recall your dream

Sometimes we wake up feeling shaken up or pleasantly surprised with the residue of a dream we just had, just to feel frustrated shortly thereafter as the dream completely slips our mind and everything happens in fractions of a second. No matter how hard we try to recall, we often fail in our attempt. Well, this may not be a nagging issue anymore as scientists seem to have found an easy way to help us remember our dreams in the morning. As per a study, taking Vitamin B6 supplements before going to sleep can help you achieve this easily.

How this supplement helps
As per the new research carried out by the University of Adelaide in Australia, taking vitamin B6 improves the person's ability to recall the dream as compared to placebo, a common substance for physiological effects. 100 participants from around Australia volunteered in the study where they were asked to take the supplement for five consecutive days. It was a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study in which the participants took 240 mg of vitamin B6 immediately before bed.

The co-researcher of the study, Dr Aspy said that intake of the vitamin did not affect the participant's vividness and bizarreness of their dream or other aspects of their sleep patterns. Before taking the supplement the participants rarely remembered their dream but later they reported an improvement in it.
However, it is still unclear how this nutrient helps in recalling your dream and more research is being carried out to know the mystery behind this.

Vitamin B 6
Vitamin B6 also known as pyridoxine is one of the eight vitamins in the B complex group. It is a water-soluble vitamin and is required by our body to carry out several functions. Our body cannot produce Vitamin B6 so we need to obtain it from different sources. Vitamin B6 is involved in the reaction of 150 enzymes, which helps our body to process protein, carbs and fat from the food diet. This vitamin is also linked with the function of our nervous system and immune health.

Vitamin B6 occurs naturally in various foods like banana, avocado, spinach, potato, milk, cheese, eggs, red meat, liver, and fish. So, if you want to remember your dream in the morning, Vitamin B6 is your go-to food at night.
